Muskmelon is a type of melon that has been developed into many different varieties such as honeydew, crenshaw and casaba, and different netted cultivars (cantaloupe, Persian melon and Santa Claus or Christmas melon).
They are very often eaten fresh but are also sometimes dried, cooked, or grown for their seeds which produce melon oil.
So if we can eat them, can guinea pigs eat muskmelon and if they can how much can they eat?
Let’s take a look at their nutritional data to find out a bit more about them. In particular, we are interested in their acidic, fat, calcium, sugar and phosphorus content.

As you can see muskmelon contains a hint of fat, no calcium or acids or phosphorus. But it is quite sweet.
However the vitamin c content is excellent which is great bonus for guinea pigs.
So guinea pigs can eat muskmelon but because of their sweetness only on a once a week basis. But their vitamin c content makes them an excellent addition to a guinea pigs diet.
