Today’s foody question is ‘can guinea pigs eat watercress?’
So today I bought some watercress from the market. I saw it was available and decided to pick it up as I was looking out for some different food for my piggy.
A quick search showed that watercress was fine for my piggy to have, whilst I was buying in the market. So I put it in the basket and bought it!
With watercress being green and a vegetable, I had an idea it would be ok.
But wanted to check its nutritional values before I dove in and laid some out for my guinea pig.

Can guinea pigs eat watercress?
Yes they can, its perfectly fine for them. It contains a good amount of vitamin c and so gives them some much needed vitamin c supplement.
So what did my guinea pig think of watercress?
At first he did not take to it at all,

I went away then came back to catch him having a nibble at it

But in the end he wasn’t greatly impressed, so I wont be going out of my way to buy it again for him. However, it is defiantly worth trying with your guinea pig as it gives them some good health benefits. The guinea pig version of brussel sprouts I guess!
